A Sneaky Handover: The quiet switch from Graves Bros. to Oaks Roofing and Siding

After initially reaching out to Graves Brothers Home Improvement about installing a new roof and gutters, they sent Project Estimator/salesman Tyler Warshaw. Upon arrival at our home, Mr. Warshaw indicated that he worked for Graves Brothers’ and all of the printed documents that he showed and left behind were from Graves Bros. or their roofing material suppliers. Tyler Warshaw never mentioned the possibility of a second roofing contractor.

Later on, after letting Mr. Warshaw know that we had selected Graves Bros. for the job, he proceeded to handle the signing process for the contract, as well as the capital improvement form. He then said the scheduling would be handled by “our scheduler, Jessie” and that she was “from the office”. For now, all indications were that Jessie the Scheduler would be an employee of Graves Brothers Home Improvement.

Our next email, just seven minutes later, was from a Jessie Montrallo and she told us that it might take a few weeks to schedule the installation because collecting the materials and the building permit might take that long. At the time, we just assumed that Ms. Montrallo was from Graves Brothers Home Improvement, but later on we would come to notice that her email address was JMontrallo@oaksbrands.com while Mr. Warshaw’s was TWarshaw@gravesbros.com. Oaks Brands will be thoroughly detailed in a future posting.
